BarcodePlus

Account-Based Copier Payment and Ethernet Terminal Control

BarcodePlus Ethernet Terminal next to Ricoh/Savin Copier from EnvisionWare

EnvisionWare's BarcodePlus® System extends the capabilities of your existing patron barcodes to a powerful self-service copier payment and control solution. Borrowers or students can scan their library card, barcode-based student ID, magnetic stripe card, or BlackBoard Transaction System ID which retrieves the on-line deposit balance and enables the copier. The user makes copies consuming up to the maximum available funds and then either presses a key to end the copy session or it alerts the user and times out automatically. Charges are updated in real time. The cashless solution offers a high reliability account-based copy management solution for libraries and campuses. Interfaces are available for most copiers including EnvisionWare's Ricoh/Savin models.

EnvisionWare delivers a total solution that builds on our powerful SQL-based Authentication and Accounting Module database. The BarcodePlus Ethernet Terminal communicates with the EnvisionWare Terminal Engine, a sophisticated management package that controls the functionality of each terminal. You can centrally manage every terminal, link the systems to patron or student deposit accounts (and Blackboard accounts), configure the settings for copier hardware, and customize the text.

The EnvisionDesign philosophy provides a Terminal Engine that can run on a Windows platform consistent with the cross platform capabilities of the AAM database. The Ethernet Terminal controls the copiers, provides the interface, and replaces single-function PC's with a reliable terminal device that has no moving parts and no virus or OS vulnerabilities. BarcodePlus integrates seamlessly with your existing or new EnvisionWare installation and can operate with other EnvisionWare applications or as a stand-alone enterprise copier management solution.

Add EnvisionWare eCommerce Services and users can pay fines and add funds to the AAM deposit account using a credit card.

Adding Value with Cash

You can add a coin/bill acceptor directly to a computer using the AAM User Account Manager or for a more sophisticated and centralized approach, use the Network Add Value Station to add funds, print receipts, and query accounts. The Network Add Value Station can automatically create AAM deposit accounts directly from your ILS (library system).
